CORE Research, Inc. is located in beautiful Orlando, Florida with access to a population of nearly 2 million people. We recruit patients rapidly and accurately through a variety of means. We consistently deliver quality data and strive to minimize protocol deviations and queries. We are also noted for low placebo response. We have a full time, trained and experienced staff comprised of physician investigators, research coordinators and nurses, research medical technicians, and pharmacists.
Principal Investigators
CORE Research was founded in May 1998 by Andrew J. Cutler, M.D. and is dedicated to the highest quality pharmaceutical research. Dr. Cutler is Board Certified in both Psychiatry and Internal Medicine and has been performing clinical research since 1993 at the University of Virginia, the University of Chicago, and since 1996 in Central Florida. Dr. Cutler lectures frequently about the evaluation and treatment of mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder (manic-depression), depression, anxiety and panic disorders, insomnia, and ADHD. Dr. Cutler and his qualified, experienced team of physicians, nurses, research coordinators, and pharmacists treat every patient as an individual. Dr. Cutler has served as Principal Investigator for over 55 studies since the founding of CORE Research.
In addition to being the president of Core Research, Dr. Cutler is an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Florida.
Richard Knapp, D.O. has been with CORE Research since February 2001 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.
Dr. Knapp obtained his doctorate at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1971 and is licensed in both Florida and Pennsylvania. Dr. Knapp received his post-graduate training at Tri-County Osteopathic Hospital, Belmont Behavioral Health, University of Pennsylvania, Jefferson Medical College and College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Knapp is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Addictions Psychiatry and has been practicing psychiatry since 1974. Dr. Knapp has participated in 39 different research studies.
Jairo Nunez, M.D., has been with CORE Research since September 2000 as a Sub-Investigator.
Dr. Nunez obtained his doctorate at University of Rosary, Bogota, Columbia, in 1976 and is licensed in the State of Florida. Dr. Nunez received his post-graduate training at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Woodville State Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Nunez is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Nunez has been practicing psychiatry since 1989 and has been living in the Central Florida area since 1995.
Jeffrey A. Danziger, M.D. has been with CORE Research since December 2004 as a Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator.
Dr. Danziger obtained his Bachelor's of Arts degree in Biology at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1978 and his doctorate at the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1982 and is licensed in the State of Florida. Dr. Danziger received his post-graduate training at Washington University/Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and has held many positions as Professor, Medical Director, and President of Florida Psychiatric Society. Dr. Danziger has been awarded Orlando Magazine's Top Doctors in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, Guide to America's Top Physicians in 2003 & 2004, Doctors Across America Top Doctors in 2002, as well as many other outstanding honors. Doctor Danziger has been practicing psychiatry since 1983 and has participated in 25 different research studies.
Eduard Gfeller, M.D. has been with CORE Research since December 2006 as a Sub-Investigator.
Dr. Gfeller received his medical training at the University of Bern, Switzerland and worked in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore prior to obtaining training in Psychiatry at the Sheppard – Pratt Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He held positions at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, University of Florida in Gainesville and University of South Florida in Tampa as Professor of Psychiatry and Chief of Psychiatry at the respective Veterans Hospitals. He was Medical Director for Behavioral Health for Orlando Regional Healthcare for 10 years prior to returning to the VA at the Orlando Outpatient Clinic. He has conducted numerous basic science studies and a dozen clinical and drug studies.

Technology
CORE Research has the technology it takes to keep up with the fast-paced world of the pharmaceutical industry. CORE Research has a full time Information Systems and Database Administrator as well as on-call, technical support 24 hours a day. CORE Research utilizes the following to provide the best, most efficient services possible:
- Windows XP Operating Systems
- Windows 2003 Servers connecting our Local Area Network with battery back-up for power outages and daily back-up of all shared resources
- Dedicated T-1 Service for quick internet access utilizing Internet Explorer version 7.0
- All computers are equipped with a minimum Memory of 1 Gb
- High speed 24 hour fax machines on dedicated lines
- State-of-the-art telephone and voice mail system with 24/7 response from staff
- Private monitoring rooms with telephone and separate data line access
- Remote data entry and server access for off-site and field personnel
We have the resources and experience to perform electronic data capture (EDC) to speed the reporting and processing of study data.
